These Amish-sewn single-compartment panniers are made of heavy-duty 1680 denier nylon, which is extremely resistant to abrasion. The lid is form-fitting and has no drawstring closure; instead, easy-to-adjust 1" Side-Release buckles are used to secure the lid.

The pannier stabilizing bar distributes the weight along the length of the saddle, while also acting as a carrying handle and providing a weighing point. A pannier security strap, located on the pannier stabilizing bar, runs down the back side of the Rookie Pannier to connect to a buckle on the cinch of the Rookie Saddle (to secure the stabilizing bar to the saddle) and then connects to the bottom of the pannier (to prevent the pannier from flying up in the air when going over jumps or other obstacles).
